At this time, we will return to our three worship service and Sunday school format. Please note that this year, Sunday school will only be held at the 9:30 service.

We will continue our fellowship after services as the Children & Family Work Area has reserved the Tivoli Movie Theater for our Rally Day celebration. Everyone is invited to attend the movie Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2, which will be shown at 1:30 p.m.

Each child (12 and under) who attends church that morning will receive a coupon for a Kiddie Combo (box with popcorn, snack and drink). The concession stand will also be open for anyone wanting to purchase snacks. The doors open at the Tivoli at 1:00 p.m.

The movie is free for ALL (you don’t need a ticket) so please invite your friends and neighbors to come to church in the morning and to the movie in the afternoon!

DGFUMC Summer Camp - Get Real

Get Real

There is a lot of fake out there. In a culture of manicured online profiles, electronically altered images and relentless deception in advertising, it is difficult to know who our friends are and who to trust. It is too easy to buckle under the pressure and try to become the images we see. We all must seek our own real identity from a trustworthy source. Get Real teaches campers that we are not created in the image of the popular culture - we are created in the image of God, who loves us just as we are and asks us to love others in the same way.

DGFUMC is offering this summer camp experience for children and youth from 2nd to 9th grade at the Wesley Woods Conference Center, Williams Bay, WI from June 23 to June 27.  The grade listed is the grade the student will be entering in the fall of 2014.

Get Messy!

Get Messy! It is sometimes difficult to have children attend church. They don’t like to sit still or be quiet or just listen. Frankly, I don’t blame them. I want children to be who they are…active, creative, and lively!

Get Messy will be an opportunity for children along with their families do just that. It is on the second Sunday of each month from 11:00 AM to about 12:30 PM. The next Messy Church will be on March 9. There will be a time to make crafts as a family, a short (and lively) time of gathering, and a family friendly lunch. This time will be about building community along with thinking about that greater power that is creator and love of all.

Don’t worry about getting messy, or being too loud, or squirming too much…just come and have fun with your family! Everyone is welcome at Get Messy!

There is no cost but those attending will need to register using the form on the Get Messy web page. Contact John Smoke for more information. Get Messy will be in the church gym.
