Children's Home Page

DGFUMC provides a range of educational opportunities for children of all ages, including nursery care provided during worship hours, Pathfinders (Sunday School), and midweek family fellowship that is linked to children's choir rehearsals. The goal is to help children grow in faith, and become familiar with the Bible through a variety of methods, including storytelling and drama, music, video, games, science, cooking and art.

Pet Blessing and PJ Party

Do you need to do something lighthearted today? Want a space that promises not to give you any coronavirus updates? Want to celebrate your pets or see other people's pets? Join us for a Pet Blessing and PJ party! We'll start with a little prayer and celebration of the pets, and then John Edward Smoke will read us a bedtime story.

Don's Home Cookin' Family Meal

The cooking team of Don Safford, Bill Chalberg, Susan Newman, and Ken Drogemuller will be back for a Home Cookin' meal. All are invited to join us for this special family meal between 5:00 - 6:30 p.m. This meal is always awesome and the fellowship is fantastic!

Cost is only $6 a meal...the great fellowship is free! Please register by emailing John Smoke at john@dgfumc.org. You may pay that day.

Feed My Starving Children Ministry

Please join us for our annual Feed My Starving Children meal packing adventure during the Christmas season. This is a wonderful opportunity to give in this season of giving.This Christian organization runs high-energy sessions where we pack food for the neediest children around the world. 

We have 47 spots reserved for our church and community.  Invite some friends and come to help. Please register in advance for this special all-church ministry with our code - 8DGLXV on their website here  or you may stop by the parlor on December 15 to sign up. Contact John Smoke with any questions or if you have problems registering online.

Please plan to arrive at 8:45 a.m. so that we may be ready to work at 9:00. Sorry, no children under 5.

Preschool Fundraiser

Save yourself a night of cooking and order Take-n-Bake  pizzas, salads, and cupcakes from Home Run Inn. Fill out the form found on the welcome table, in the kiosk, and in the narthex and drop it off at the Preschool or the Church office on or by December 5. Orders will be available for pick up on Thursday, December 12.

Home Run Inn $25 Gift cards are also available to order on the form.

Fall Family Fellowship Dinners

On Wednesday evenings, there are programs for the whole family! Children, from pre-Kindergarteners to 8th grade, are invited to join one of the children's choirs that meet from 4:30 p.m. onwards. During this time, there will be Family Dinners served in the Gym from 5:00 until 6:30 p.m.

Connection 6th, 7th & 8th Grade 5:45 to 6:30 p.m. - Fellowship Hall

Family Dinner

There will be a catered dinner in the Gym from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m. for families and individuals at the church. Dinner tickets are available on a subscription basis only. There will be two meal subscriptions this year in the fall and spring. All families must register for an entire subscription period. Children 3 and under eat free.

Great Pumpkin Sing Along

All are invited to attend the Great Pumpkin Sing Along! Bring your own chair to the DGFUMC Pumpkin Patch at 6:00 pm on October 19.

Be prepared to sing songs and enjoy refreshments around the campfire! No need to sign up, just come!
