The Lenten Season Has Arrived!
What a meaningful Ash Wednesday service we were able to share together at the start of the Lenten Season on February 13! Youth Minister Katie Kiss inspired us with reflections on how the words of the Old Testament prophet Amos shed light on living our faith with integrity today.
Our worship services during the next six Sundays will help us continue on that Lenten journey, as we examine the encounters Jesus had with people, and his impact on them, as he prepared to face the cross. We may find that the experiences of Peter or Barabbas, Joseph of Arimithea or an unnamed woman whose gift to Jesus made an important difference, provide fresh insight for our faith journeys.
This Sunday, February 17, our scripture invites us to overhear, from Luke 4:1-14, "The Test" - the challenges, questions, and the ultimate decision to trust God that Jesus had to face in the wilderness.
