Join the Junior and Senior High youth as we walk the CROP Walk and raise money to eradicate hunger on the local, national, and international level. The youth group will be walking together in the 27th Annual South DuPage CROP Hunger Walk. Registration starts at 1:30PM and the Walk begins at 2:00PM. Following the walk, we'll head back to Open Door for a joint youth group. There will NOT be dinner this week!

Come hang out Friday, September 28th from 7-9PM in the Youth Room to beat the back-to-school blues with some fun! We'll bowl (in the church!!), eat, and play any and all board games. Bring your favorite game to share for the evening!
So the football game is over... now what? Come hang out in Open Door! We'll have food, music, and lots of space to hang out. Didn't go to the game? Come anyway! We'll be hanging out with Middle School from 8-9:30 P.M. and High School from 9:30-11 P.M.!
We are celebrating the beginning of Chapel Choir this year, with a kick-off supper!
We will meet on Wednesday, August 29nd at 6:30PM in Pastor Jim and Pastor Greta's backyard for official registration, food, and fun! (Rain location will be in the Gym)
Following dinner, choir members will rehearse until 8:45PM and adults interested in helping with choir this year will meet briefly.
Junior High (6-8th) meet from 4-5PM, Senior High (9-12th) meet from 6-7PM, and a meal is shared by all between 5-6PM. Parents are needed to help provide meals! Please contact Katie if you can help out.
We had the priviledge of hosting the Sonshine Choir from Brentwood (TN) UMC as they performed a wonderful concert on July 14 followed by beautiful anthems at our worship services the next day. They provided a real gift through their music and spirit and our congregation provided them a gift through our generosity of food, lodging, and attendance. The 100 youth were housed by 34 incredible families. Please enjoy some of the pictures from their visit!
Many people have already generously offered to help accommodate students from the 100-strong Sonshine Choir from Brentwood United Methodist Church, TN, who are giving a concert at DGFUMC on July 14. However, we still need a few more families willing to host two or more students on Saturday night after the concert. If you are able to do so, please contact Don Dunham as soon as possible. For those who have been coming to Ignite all year long, you'll notice Sunday, June 10th is a reversal of roles! Students will have the opportunity to host, serve, and enjoy a community meal with the visiting choir from Church of the Saviour United Methodist Church. After the meal, we'll head to the sanctuary and enjoy the show!
