FUMC Building Planning Open Forum

Beginning the Journey

During the last five years, FUMC has experienced a substantial increase in the number of programs and fellowship opportunities, as well as, increased participation in all of its programs that take place in our facility. This growth, in addition to the age and major maintenance requirements, has placed a strain on current facility utilization planning. Long-range issues in terms of growth in congregation and mission uses also require a focus on our facility and future requirements.

During the Sept. 9th Charge Conference, an unanimous vote authorized the formation of a Building Committee to investigate the issues of facility utilization and planning. Open forums to solicit ideas will be held to get input on specific or general facility needs to meet current and future congregation and mission requirements. A short presentation illustrating specific facility needs will be followed by opportunities for input.

The forums are scheduled for Nov. 16th from 12:15 p.m. until 1:15 p.m. and Nov. 23rd from 4:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. in the Sanctuary. If you are unable to attend the forum but have specific ideas as to facility utilization needs and ways to address them, you can e-mail them to:

buildingcommittee@dgfumc.org

Please participate as FUMC Begins the Journey of planning to assure adequate facility to grow in community and mission.
