South DuPage CROP Hunger Walk Captains

This page describes the responsibilities of a CROP Hunger Walk team captain. First, a big thank you to all of you who have agreed to represent your church or organization in this way. Your work is vital to the success of the walk both in encouraging others to participate, providing them with information and advice, and ensuring that donations are collected efficiently.

What is your role?

Set up an online team

  • Visit the Online Donations Page.
  • If your team has not been created, click on "Join or Start a Team."
  • After checking the list of existing teams at the bottom of the page, choose a team name and click on "Start Team."
  • Tell your recruits to register online and explain how they can e-mail friends and relatives to ask for online donations.

Advertise CROP Hunger Walk

  • Recruit team members through announcements, bulletins, flyers, and/or emails.
  • A church bulletin insert with the dates of this year's walk is available for download below.
  • Other resources can be downloaded from the CROP Hunger Walk web pages.

Distribute Donation Envelopes

  • If your team members want to collect donations as cash or checks, request donation envelopes from the walk coordinator, Kristin Schultz.
  • Tell your members that they should collect the money, record the cash and check amounts on the donation envelope, seal it, and bring it to the walk.
