Youth Event: Ice Skating at Maggie Daley Park
Join us for skating on the ribbon at Maggie Daley Park or exploring the park!
We will meet at the Open Door youth room at 12:15 p.m. Our train departs at 12:45 p.m. Youth should definitely dress warmly as we will be walking about a mile from Union Station to the park and walking from DGFUMC to the train station and back and the skating ribbon is all outdoors! It will be a cold day, so dress warmly. There are warming centers near the skating ribbon.
Those who would like to skate on the ribbon can bring their own skates or rent a pair at the skating park (see fees for rental below). For those who do not want to skate, Pastor Anna will lead a group to explore the park.
We will eat fast food downtown (Potbelly or Chipotle) and return on the 6:40 p.m. train to Downers Grove. Pick up will be at 7:35 p.m. at the Open Door youth room entrance.
Chaperones are needed for this event; if you are interested, please let Deacon Wes know.
Fees for this Event
Weekend train pass - $10 (We will pre-purchase passes and youth can purchase a pass directly from Deacon Wes on the day of the event.)
Admission to the skating ribbon - Free
Skate Rental - $15 or you may bring your own skates
Fast food - approx. $12 - $15 for Potbelly or Chipotle
