When Life Gives You Cake . . .

Each Wednesday night in the month of July, we host a movie at the church as a way to grow in community together and have some fun. This week, our movie was Matilda. Have you seen Matilda? It's one of my favorites!

If you haven't seen it, Matilda is the story of a young girl with a voracious desire to learn and read all that she can. In many ways, books are her escape from her dysfunctional family and bleak reality. The movie follows Matilda as she navigates misadventures at her new school with the sweet and kind Miss Honey and her terrifying headmistress, Miss Trunchbull.

This Sunday in worship, we'll share a clip from the 1996 film and connect it with Isaiah 40:31 and Galatians 5:13-16. We'll be doing things a little bit differently this week and Pastor Smoke and I will be co-preaching. Join us as we explore the lessons this film and scripture have for us and how we might connect them with our own lives today.
