Recycling Event: #6 Foam Products September 22

The "Green Team" will host a recycling event for foam #6 products on Sunday, September 22. Bring your recycling to the Parlor before or after worship services on this date and our wonderful Green Team members will take it to the recycling facility for you! It couldn't be easier.

Please place #6 foam cups, plates, take-out containers, and egg  cartons together in a bag. Be sure to rinse all items. Do not include straws or lids, foam insulation, or packaging peanuts.

In a separate bag, you may include molded foam that is used to package electronics. It's important it be in a separate bag because it is dropped off at a different location.

Thank you for helping us to keep #6 foam products out of our landfills.

Adopt-a-Stream Annual River Clean-up

All you’ll need to bring are waterproof boots (or shoes that you don’t mind getting muddy) and work gloves, if you have them. Tools, water, and snacks will be provided. This is a great activity for kids to participate in with a parent or guardian.

Sign-up sheets will be available in the parlor, or you can email Vera Miller at VeraMiller83@gmail.com to RSVP.

Clean Energy Petition

Concerned about our changing climate? Interested in clean energy to benefit our local communities? Stop by the Environmental Stewardship Work Area table in the parlor after services on Sunday, November 25, to sign a "clean energy petition postcard" to be submitted to your village leadership.

A new group, the DuPage Clean Energy Coalition, is collecting these postcards throughout DuPage County to let towns' leaders know that residents want to see more renewable energy like solar power. Together, we can act locally on climate change, help improve quality of life in our community, and make a big difference for our amazing planet.
