Day 2 was another successful day full of laughs  and adventure!  The members of the delegation and the  UPAVIM women waited out the rain with a few icebreaker games inside. We sat in a big circle and went around saying a word to make a story. It was a little challenging with the different languages but by the end of the game everyone was laughing away the delicious Campechanas. (Campechanas are sweet bread that the women make. I wish I could take some home for all of you to try, it is my favorite!)

We also had the oppertunity to meet a man that stays here in the Sister Parish center sometimes named Armando. He  shared stories of his family and his Mayan culture. We learned that there are 37 letters in the Mayan alphabet!  Along with beautiful  pictures of his home and the mountains of which he lives. It was a great opportunity to see a little deeper into some Mayan culture.

This experience is so much more than I could have hoped for and I'm eager to see and learn more about the women and the life out here. They continue to fill our hearts with love and we can't wait for more!
