Get on board and enjoy the ride

This week begins the start of many of our fall programs as committees and work areas begin to meet again in fellowship and mission.

Fall also marks the beginning of our new choir year with our adult, youth and children's choirs starting to sing out loud this week. I want to make a quick plug for the Chapel Choir that will be singing new music each week on Sunday mornings and also on their Spring Break Tour to many peoples and places. Choir is a lot of fun and experts say that music helps to aid and speed children in learning in all areas. Speaking of things speeding up, we all know that the speed of light is fast, but what's the speed of dark?

From Onward Bound to Adult Education, to choirs - all the cars are starting up their engines this week so get on board and enjoy the ride.

This Sunday I will be preaching from the sixth chapter of Luke where Jesus invites us to mimic God by loving our enemies. This is as important a message today as it was two thousand years ago. I haven't finished my sermon as I write these remarks, but hopefully it will stimulate a lot of thought.

I look forward to an exciting new school year in the church and hope to see you all this Sunday.
