Lent: Day 34

Lenten DevotionalsBeautiful Feet

Scripture: Romans 10: 9-13

Romans 10:15 reads, “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news.” I want beautiful feet, but in the past, I have struggled to share the good news of Jesus with others. Growing up, I kept my religion private. Sure I went to Sunday school and church camp and engaged in conversations about faith there, but that’s pretty much where it ended.

I didn’t feel comfortable talking about it with my friends and neighbors, let alone a stranger.

I suppose I was afraid. Afraid of being judged or ridiculed. Afraid of not knowing enough about my own religion to make an intelligent case for Christianity. I have a hunch that many Christians feel the same way. But scripture says, “Anyone who trusts in Him will never be put to shame.”

I am overcoming my fear. Through life experiences, spending time in the Word, growing in faith and having amazing friends and family, I have become more confident in who I am and what I believe. My fear has been replaced by the freedom to talk openly about my faith. I may not be knocking on doors or handing out pamphlets at the mall, but I am trying to live my life in a way that is pleasing to God and can serve as an example to others.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, We pray for beautiful feet. Please replace the fear in our hearts with the freedom that your grace and love brings. Help us to walk a righteous path in a way that is pleasing to you. And help us to recognize opportunities to reach out to others and share our faith. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
