Foundations Class The Path To Spiritual Authenticity
The Path To Spiritual Authenticity
The focus for Foundations during the month of November is: Meditation and Prayer
November 4: Meditation for Those Who Breathe with John Cianciosi
There is nothing mysterious about meditation; it is a systematic process of introspection by which we can arrive at deep inner peace and insight. We begin by using simple techniques such as systematic relaxation of the body, and mindfulness of breathing to cultivate greater awareness, concentration, and serenity. As our skill in meditation develops, we are able to investigate our inner world of emotions and mental states, and realize that we are in fact the creator of these states.
John was a Buddhist Monk for over 20 years and is currently the Resident Buddhist Teacher at the Theosophical Society. He also teaches at the College of DuPage. John will teach us meditation practices on November 4 and follow up on November 18.
November 11:
We will focus on another type of meditative and prayer practice.
November 18:
Continuation of Meditation for Those Who Breathe
