Friday Night at the Movies
Join us as Carol Lysne, founder of Friday Night at the Movies, presents Black or White, a film whose story addresses issues of race, forgiveness, and understanding as two families fight for the custody of a beloved grandchild. Maternal grandfather Elliott Anderson, played by Kevin Costner in one of his best roles, is just coming to terms with the realization he will be raising granddaughter, Eloise, alone following the sudden death of his wife, when her paternal grandmother Rowena Jeffries, played by Octavia Spencer, seeks custody of the little girl. Based on true events, this 2014 release looks at two seemingly different worlds in which nothing is as simple as black or white.
Call or visit the church office to sign-up soon, as attendance is limited to twenty people. A two dollar donation is suggested to cover popcorn, soft drinks, coffee and dessert.
