Friday Night at the Movies

This month, John Smoke will present, Sully, a 2016 biographical drama directed by Clint Eastwood. The film tells the story of Captain Chesley "Sully" Sullenberger's January 2009 emergency landing of US Airways Flight 1549 on the Hudson River, in which all 155 passengers and crew survived with only minor injuries, and the subsequent publicity and investigation, which threatened to destroy his reputation and his career. The film stars two-time Academy Award winner Tom Hanks as Sully, as well as three-time Academy Award nominee Laura Linney and Aaron Eckhart .
