Friday Night at the Movies
Violent convict Roman Coleman, an inmate at a rural Nevada prison, gets a chance to rehabilitate himself through participation in a therapy program involving the training of wild mustangs in this month’s film pick, The Mustang. With a history of domestic violence and uncontrollable anger, Roman seems an unlikely candidate for the program, especially when he is assigned to an especially difficult horse. This dramatic film, released earlier this year, may sound like a tough and gritty film, but reviewers describe it as “a tender film about forgiveness and second chances.“ Cast members include Bruce Dern and acclaimed Belgian actor Matthias Schoenaerts.
Kay Mundy will lead our post-film discussion. Sign up by phone at 630.968.7120 or in person in the church office as seats are limited to 20 people. A $2 donation is suggested to cover snacks, beverages, and dessert. See you at the movies!
