Lunch Bunch

Lunch BunchThis is a group of senior adults who get together the second Wednesday of each month for a social activity, fun and fellowship. Some of their activities have included a trolley ride to the Sears homes in Downers Grove, a trip to Starved Rock, Christmas in Chicago, a movie: "Singing in the Rain"; a play in Naperville and a Sing-A-Long. 

You may sign up for events in the Parlor on Sunday mornings, or contact the Church Office.

Wednesday, September 10
We will have a lunch of sandwiches from Subway at noon in Chapel Hall. After lunch we will have a program by Curtis Rolfe who will show pictures of color glass windows he has created and we will go to the sanctuary to view the most recent windows he has done. Cost to be determined.

Wednesday, October 8
We will carpool from the church parking lot to the Downers Grove Historical Museum to see their latest exhibits. Lunch will be at Egg Harbor. Time to be determined.

Thursday, November 20
We will travel to White Fence Farm for their famous chicken dinner and to see the show by Peter Oprisko Fabulous Frank. Cost for the dinner and show will be $39 per person. Lunch will be at 11:30 a.m. followed by the show.

All senior adults are welcome to join us for any or all of these events. To register visit the Young At Heart table each Sunday in the parlor or contact Marilou Welch.

Young at Heart

The Young At Heart group invites all senior adults to join them on a paddlewheel riverboat ride on August 13. Meet in the church parking lot at 10:30 a.m. to carpool to St. Charles. The one and one-half hour riverboat ride will begin at 11:30 a.m. The cost is $27 per person. You may sign-up in the parlor on Sunday or by calling Marilou Welch at 630.968.4136 to make a reservation. All are welcome!

Young At Heart: Holiday Celebration

The Young at Heart group will be celebrating the holiday season with lunch and carol singing at noon in Chapel Hall on December 11. A Goofy Grab Bag Gift exchange will be held after lunch.

Young At Heart: Graue Mill

The Young At Heart group of senior adults will go on a 90 minute tour of Graue Mill starting at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 14.

After the tour we will have lunch at Bohemian Crystal. Cost for the tour and lunch will be $18.

Young At Heart: McCullom Park Miniature Golf

The Young At Heart group of senior adults are going to meet at McCullom Park on Wednesday, June 12 to play Miniature Golf. We will start play at 11:00 a.m. We will play golf for about an hour and then go to Home Run Inn for a pizza lunch.

Each one will pay for their own golf and lunch.

Young At Heart: Fair Oaks Farm

The Young At Heart group of senior adults will be making a one-day trip to Fair Oaks Farm in Indiana on Wednesday, May 8. We will travel by vans leaving the church parking lot at 8:00 a.m.

Cost per person will be $18.00, which includes cost of transportation and admission fee to the farm. Meals will be on your own.

Young At Heart: College of DuPage - Wheat Café

The Young At Heart group of senior adults will be going to the College of DuPage for a gourmet lunch on Wednesday, April 10. This lunch will be prepared and served by the college students in the Wheat Café. The cost is $18.00 per person. (Lunch and tip)

We will carpool from the church parking lot leaving at 10:30 a.m. for the college to have lunch at 11:15 a.m. Following lunch we will take a tour of the college campus.

Young At Heart: Spice Merchants

The Young at Heart group for senior adults will visit Spice Merchants, located at 5225 Main St., Downers Grove on Wednesday, March 13, meeting at 11am. This unique store carries spices and coffees and homemade blends that are difficult to find elsewhere. Samples will be given to us.

We will have lunch together at a local restaurant with each one paying for their own lunch.
