Content in Our Connection
We are concerned about the care that we give to each other or need ourselves, especially when we face difficult situations that require special assistance to help us through them.
When you are going through hardships, how do you deal with them? Are you frustrated and feel that it is unfair that you must endure those tough circumstances? Does jealously overtake you when you see others around you having a good time while you are in the "winter of your discontent?"
Or, do you focus your attention on the fact that your unpleasant or painful situation is temporary, and that God will provide people to help you or give you the strength and patience to overcome the hardships that you face? In the poem "If" by Rudyard Kipling, one verse reads:
"If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster
And treat those two impostors just the same..."
The ups and downs of our lives can be understood much better if we treat the two like the deceivers that they are. Is this a tough time for you? Read Philippians 4:10-13 and pray for Paul's learned ability to handle all things through God's strength.
