All Church Mission Trip to Wesley Woods
Getting the Camp Ready for Camp! On a Mission to Wesley Woods
The Mission, Justice and Community Work Area is dedicated to reaching out to serve others and getting as many people as possible to become involved in connecting our members to each other and those in need. This inspired the idea of an All Church Mission Trip, where people of all ages (12 and above) can work, laugh, and live life for a time together while helping others.
After many years of serving children and adults as a home away from home, including hundreds of people from DGFUMC for summer camp over the years, the Wesley Woods Retreat Center in Williams Bay, Wisconsin needs some tender loving care before the 2019 summer camp season begins.
The second annual All-Church Mission Trip to Wesley Woods will provide us an opportunity to give the camp buildings and grounds a much needed fixing up. What will be doing? There are walls that need painting; windows and screens that need cleaning; rotten wood that needs replacing; trails and paths to be cleared, raked and rebuilt; decks and stairs to be pressure washed and stained; mulch that needs spreading; and lights that need replacing. There are many projects and we need many hands to get them done.
Come for few hours, a day, or several days. There are jobs for everyone, regardless of skill level or expertise. This is a wonderful opportunity to put your faith into action by helping make a beautiful camp even nicer.
Together, we will make a difference.
The cost is minimal…only $40 a day, so invite friends and other family members to participate. All tools, supplies, and meals will be provided. Accommodations will be bunk beds. You will need to bring your own linens and pillow.
