Fundraiser at Bakers Square, Woodridge

If you visit Bakers Square, 2020 West 75th Street, Woodridge, IL (map) on September 12 between 10am and 7pm, 20% of all proceeds will be donated to the South DuPage CROP Hunger Walk! When you purchase an item, let the cashier know you are with the South DuPage CROP Hunger Walk fundraiser. If you plan to go, please click on the link below to let Bakers Square know. We need 20 commitments by September 9.

Please join us on this year's South DuPage CROP Hunger Walk!. Our congregation is signing up walkers to join others in the church and community who are walking to reduce hunger in our area and in the world. We are also taking donations to support the Hunger Walk. If you can't walk, please consider donating to Pastor Claude, Pastor Andi, or Pastor John (or all three!).

Each Sunday, you can sign up to walk in the parlor or donate to CROP Hunger Walk online here. (see below) Our church’s goal is to raise $10,000. Last year, we surpassed our goal! Let's do it again!

All contributions to CROP Hunger Walk go to local food pantries and Church World Service to alleviate hunger locally and worldwide. 

The walk starts at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, 4501 Main Street, Downers Grove (map).

We will gather with others in our community to fight hunger both here and around the world. Now more than ever people are experiencing food insecurity. Twenty five percent of the proceeds raised go to local food banks and 75% to help our brothers and sisters who live domestically and abroad.

The South DuPage CROP Hunger Walk will be different this year as "We Walk Together - Apart"  on Sunday, October 18. You are encouraged to walk in groups of five or less around your neighborhood, forest preserve, or church as far or as long as you want! We need walkers and sponsors to join us! You can sign up to walk or donate to another walker from our church by clicking here.

We invite you to get a couple of friends or family members together and make a difference while you get some exercise and be the feet of Christ in the world!

When you walk in the CROP Hunger Walk on Sunday, October 20, you are raising money to help fight hunger and also walking in solidarity with all of those people around the world who are walking for food, water, and firewood each day. Help us reach our goal of 50 walkers for the 50th CROP Walk!

Stop in the parlor on Sunday to sign up to walk or for a donation envelope. If you can't walk, consider sponsoring one of our pastors. Rumor has it that John Smoke said if we don't reach 50 walkers, he will carry a 50 lb. bag of cat litter during the walk! Let's help John out!!!!
